General Position Description

Provides services for children birth to twelve, families, Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) contracted providers, and Child Care Administration (CCA) staff throughout Southern Arizona for the purpose of stabilizing a target child’s childcare placement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Uses a framework of promotion, prevention, and early intervention to promote social emotional development and resilience and prevention of behavioral difficulties for those at risk of expulsion.
  • Accepts incoming expulsion referrals, phone calls, and emails; triages and prioritizes each request.
  • Acts as a resource regarding early childhood development with an emphasis on emotional and behavioral health and the importance of the relationships between the participant and the child.
  • Provides observations and recommendations regarding the social-emotional environment to assist in identifying children in need of support with the behavioral, emotional, or developmental concerns.
  • Collaborates with childcare providers, directors, managers, and other team members to build their knowledge and skills to support the needs of children and families.
  • Partners with and supports early care and education providers to facilitate ongoing communication with parents regarding mental health, behavioral, or developmental concerns for their children.
  • Develops written intervention strategies utilizing a team approach to assist staff in developing positive behavior support strategies to promote optimal social-emotional development.
  • Adheres to the Codes of Ethics of National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
  • Assists in developing, delivering, and evaluating training modules for the Expulsion Prevention program, annual conference, and other community trainings as appropriate.
  • Ensures program data is correct for accurate and timely billing. Completes progress notes in a timely fashion as required by funding source and/or system partners. Meets requirements of productivity standards set for the Resource Consultant.
  • Participates in the process of ongoing professional development and meetings. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency, members, and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Education, or a Master’s degree that leads towards licensure from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners with 5 years of experience working with children birth to twelve years and their families required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Regulatory
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Current, unrestricted AZ driver’s license with no more than two (2) minor moving violations or one (1) accident within the past three (3) years. Three (3) years of driving experience required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (employer provides).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (Employer provides).
