Job Overview:
The primary role of the Victim Services Caseworker is to provide comprehensive, victim-centered case management services for victims of crime. Responsibilities will include completing eligibility screening and enrollment paperwork, developing service plans, educating about community services, resources, and legal rights, and helping problem solve barriers to access. This position is also responsible for assisting with programmatic and administrative tasks including case notes, case file management, and data collection.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive case management services, including assisting with accessing community resources through local partners, making appropriate referrals to legal providers, and help identify and arrange social activities in-line with service plans
Provide crisis intervention to victims and their family members suffering from crime related trauma (through provision of information on victimization, crime prevention, victim’s legal rights and protections, criminal justice process; providing emotional support to victims; safety planning; assistance with compensation applications; interventions with creditors, landlords and employers; creation and monitoring of client service plan and self-sufficiency matrix and on-going tracking)
Complete eligibility screenings for all referrals and enrollment paperwork for all eligible program participants
Assessing and evaluating the needs of victims while providing appropriate services and maintaining appropriate documentation
Build and maintain relationships with various local, state, and federal stakeholders including law enforcement agencies
Develop strategies to further assist in the identification and referral of victims of crime in Arizona Ensure acute needs are met in a timely and client-centered manner for each program participant
Provide assistance with the development and implementation of all outreach and training activities to ensure program outcomes and activities are met Track program activities, compile data and draft reports as required by donor and agency specifications
Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities and generally be an engaged team member
Comply with all policies, procedures and protocols of the agency

The Victim Services Caseworker will be responsible for developing relationships within the IRC network and external relations with social service agencies and government entities
Internal: IRC Victim Services and Anti-Trafficking Programs External:
Arizona domestic violence coalitions, other OVC grantees, attorney offices providing pro-bono legal services, law enforcement, social service agencies, community education presentations, community outreach
Job Requirements:
Education:
Undergraduate degree in Human Services or similar field strongly preferred; comparable related work experience may be substituted.
Work Experience:
2+ years of related work experience; 1-year minimum working with victims of crime or other vulnerable populations.
Case management and/or victims assistance experience preferred
Demonstrated Skills and
Competencies:
Excellent written and spoken English skills
Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
Excellent writing and analytical skills
Public Speaking and/or presentation experience preferred
Ability to effectively communicate and work as a team member with collaborative partners, the community, and clients in a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment
Computer literacy, data base experience preferred
Ability to work independently and be a flexible team player
Language
Skills:
Fluency in written and spoken English, bilingual ability preferred in Dari, Spanish, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French or other refugee/immigrant language used in Arizona. Cross-cultural understanding and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Certificates or Licenses:
Must have a valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery …
