The On Call Residential Advisor plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and well-managed residential environment for residents. This position involves being available outside of regular hours to respond promptly to emergencies, resident concerns, and facility issues, ensuring continuous support and security. The advisor acts as a liaison between residents and management, facilitating communication and resolving conflicts effectively. They contribute to fostering a positive community atmosphere by promoting respect, inclusivity, and adherence to residential policies.

Ultimately, the role ensures that residents feel heard, safe, and supported at all times, enhancing their overall living experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays on an on-call basis.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse resident populations.
• Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures and conflict resolution techniques.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in residential advising, campus housing, or a related role.
• Certification in first aid, CPR, or emergency response training.
• Familiarity with local community resources and support services.
• Post-secondary education in social work, counseling, or related fields.
• Experience working with diverse populations in a residential or community setting.

Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to after-hours emergencies and urgent resident needs within the residential community.
• Conduct regular rounds of residential facilities to monitor safety, security, and compliance with community standards.
• Serve as a point of contact for residents to address concerns, mediate conflicts, and provide guidance on residential policies.
• Document incidents, maintenance issues, and resident interactions accurately and report them to appropriate management personnel.
• Collaborate with campus or facility staff to coordinate resources and support services for residents as needed.
