The Test Solutions Effectors Center (TSEC) within the Hardware Engineering Discipline develops Production and Engineering test equipment solutions for Raytheon products. This role leads a software engineering section focused on design, development, transition to production, design verification, qualification, and manufacturing acceptance of final products.
What You Will Do- Supervise and lead a team of approximately 12–18 section members.
- Conduct formal and informal performance reviews and career‑development discussions with team members.
- Lead by example, adhere to, and ensure alignment with Raytheon Values and Behaviors.
- Establish meaningful and measurable goals and communicate effectively with the team and leadership.
- Design, develop, and integrate object‑oriented software applications using C#, C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio on Windows operating systems.
- Prioritize and handle multiple software‑engineering tasks concurrently.
- Drive solutions that work in field‑test or automation production environments with test solutions that have thermal and vibration testing capabilities.
- Work within a multidisciplinary engineering team environment.
- Interact and engage with Engineering, Operations Managers, PTEs, Directorate leads, Program Leaders, and Functional leaders to drive software‑test‑solution readiness and robustness.
- Support Test Equipment Engineering program hiring goals and lead onboarding of new section personnel.
- Mentor junior and mid‑career software engineers.
- Required:
Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of professional software‑engineering design experience using C/C++/C# or related languages. - Experience working with Windows‑based computing environments and factory/laboratory test instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters).
- Extensive experience in a technical leadership role and presenting to leadership and peers.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance.
- Ability to obtain additional Program Area(s) accesses.

Experience with career development of team members. - Preferred:
Experience developing software for field test and/or production test environments. - Preferred:
Experience in an object‑oriented software environment. - Preferred:
Experience with Agile development process. - Preferred:
Experience developing and interpreting models using UML. - Preferred:
Understanding of the TSEC One‑Page Process and performance‑development process. - Preferred:
Experience with software configuration management tools such as Azure and Team Foundation Server. - Preferred:
Past engineering experience in a matrix organization comprising multidisciplinary design teams across multiple projects. - Preferred:
Knowledge of DOORS requirements management tool and development of integration, verification, and validation planning documentation.
Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD.
