Our team in Tucson, AZ, has an immediate need for an onsite Principal Software Systems Quality Engineer (Quality Assurance/Compliance) to support Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) programs such as Global Patriot, Ghost‑Eye, National Advanced Surface‑to‑Air Missile, Multi‑Function Radio Frequency Sensor, Enduring Indirect Fire Protection Capability, Stinger, Next Generation Short‑Range Interceptor, TOW, Javelin, Excalibur, and Counter Unmanned Aerial systems.

What You Will Do
  • Compliance – Ensure digital products adhere to contractual requirements and approve inputs/outputs to/from partner organizations.
  • Improvement – Perform independent evaluations and risk assessments across the product lifecycle, facilitating root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Product Integrity – Identify, collect, and measure software quality attributes, metrics, and data to maintain the technical data package.
  • Teamwork – Interact with customers, product development, and test personnel, providing guidance to senior leadership, team members, and peers.
  • Processes – Leverage modern practices in software development and quality, increasingly adopting Agile and Dev Sec Ops  methodologies.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of relevant quality or engineering experience.

  • Compliance Evaluation – Validation, verification, auditing, action items.
  • Requirements Verification – Software/systems specifications, functionality, performance, release plans, statement of work, contracts.
  • Release Management – Checklists, labels, versions, licenses, repositories.
  • Test Witnessing – Test plans, test procedures, requirements traceability, test reports, test sites.
  • Software Processes – Requirements decomposition, code reviews, functions/features, build/configuration management.
  • Defect Management – Dispositioning, prioritization, resolution, implementation.
  • Records Management – Software executables, release notes, security bulletins, training manuals, user guides.
  • Integration Knowledge – Security, systems, software, hardware, connectivity, tools, equipment.
  • Maintenance Processes – Patches, upgrades, installation, backups, recovery, synchronization.
  • Technology Knowledge – Applications, servers, virtual machines, networks, storage.

Principal Role Critical
:
Proven experience with leading, coordinating, planning, prioritizing, executing, and escalating projects. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ability to identify root cause of process issues and implement corrective actions. Skilled in defining, developing, monitoring, measuring, reporting, and dashboarding metrics. Experience in SCRUM teams, sprints/increments, stories/points, backlog/burndown, and continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD). Ability to create and present senior‑management briefings.

Must possess and maintain a U.S. Government issued Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Quality principles via AS9115, AS9100, ISO
    9001.
  • Experience leading key initiatives with cross‑functional teams and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Development Environment (IDE) applications, modeling, or databases such as Clear Case, DOORS, RQM, Cameo, Rhapsody, Oracle, SAP.
  • Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops  tool chains such as Jira, Confluence, ADS, Jenkins, Git Hub, Coverity.
  • Active certifications in Quality, Software or Systems Engineering, Agile, Cyber/IA, Project Management.
  • Advanced degree.
