Technical leadership role within the Effectors Center of our Software Engineering Directorate. Responsibilities include architecting, designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and deploying embedded real‑time software that interfaces with firmware and hardware for autonomous avionics systems.

• Lead the design and implementation of embedded real‑time software for heterogeneous systems composed of firmware and hardware.
• Collaborate with cross‑discipline teams (product owners, chief engineers, managers) to refine product concepts and ensure high quality and testability.
• Provide technical mentorship, coaching, and guidance to junior staff.
• Contribute to proposals, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.
• Support program access and security clearance requirements.

• Degree in STEM field and minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Embedded C++ Software or Embedded Software Security and Software Architecture Design.
• Hands‑on experience with embedded RTOS (e.g., Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, Linux).
• Proven track record integrating hardware, firmware, and software into complex systems.
• Must obtain interim Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

• Familiarity with rate‑monotonic scheduling theory and layered architectural principles.
• Experience reading electrical schematics, VHDL/Verilog firmware source, and assembly code for a processor family.
• Hands‑on lab instrument experience (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
• Experience developing device drivers for bare‑metal and/or OS applications.
• Leadership experience delivering integrated hardware/software systems of various sizes.

• Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD.
