Role OverviewSenior Embedded Software Engineer in the Effectors Center of the Software organization. Works within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment to architect, design, implement, test, debug, and deploy software for firmware (FPGA) and hardware solutions supporting current and future autonomous avionics systems. Collaborates with cross-discipline teams, participates in Lean/Agile practices, and ensures reliable operation of embedded software.
Responsibilities- Architect, design, implement, test, and debug integrated embedded real‑time software within heterogeneous systems composed of firmware and hardware.
- Work with cross‑discipline teams to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, testability, and measurable quality.
- Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced staff.
- Contribute to proposals and preliminary and critical design reviews.
- Obtain program access.
- Work across a product line in collaboration with other teams.
- Degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- At least two of:
Embedded C++ software, Embedded software security, Software architecture design and implementation. - Experience with embedded real‑time operating systems (e.g., Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, Linux).
- Experience developing complex systems involving integration of hardware, firmware, and software.
- Active and transferable final Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance and ability to obtain program access thereafter.
- Familiarity with reading electrical schematics and relating to software function.
- Familiarity with reading firmware source such as VHDL or Verilog.
- Familiarity with assembly language in at least one processor/controller family.
- Experience using lab instruments: power supplies, digital multi‑meters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Experience developing device drivers for bare‑metal and/or OS applications.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Salary RangeUSD 86,800 – 165,200.
