Principal System Security Software Engineer – Tucson, AZ
Onsite full‑time role with RTX in Tucson, AZ.
EligibilityRequires active U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance prior to start and U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, integrate, and test real‑time missile software and firmware.
- Develop software applications using C and C++ on a variety of computing platforms.
- Understand real‑time software design and the performance implications of system security implementations.
- Work closely with the Systems Security Engineering team to define and implement requirements.
- Interface with customer community to review technical design and support verification of system maturity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience.
- Experience with C/C++ programming.
- Experience with AMD Xilinx Ultra Scale+ or Versal MPSoC or similar embedded processors.
- VxWorks OS experience.
- Embedded software security experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship.
- MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline.
- Experience with qualification and verification of software applications.
- Experience in Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience interfacing with FPGAs and low‑level memory drivers.
- Experience with inter‑processor communication.
- Knowledge of ARM architecture secure boot concepts and cryptographic algorithms.
- Experience with Raytheon Ultra Stack hardware.
- Experience designing, implementing, testing, or fielding real‑time security‑oriented solutions on DoD programs (embedded experience preferred).
- Experience using security‑relevant tools and devices for security auditing, network security, host/server security, communication security or policy management.
- Experience in Agile and Dev Sec Ops environments, including Scrum or Kanban frameworks.
- Experience with software configuration management and bug tracking tools.
- Experience with Python or Perl.
- Knowledge of modern computer architecture and hardware technologies such as PCIe, GPIO, I2C, SATA, FPGA, ASIC.
USD 107,500 – 204,500 annually.
