The Full‑Stack Engineering Manager will lead a dynamic team responsible for the ongoing development, optimization, and scaling of our core community marketing platform. This role is critical to our business expansion strategy, directly influencing platform reliability, feature innovation, and user engagement through robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

14 and Hackster.io communities as well as Design Hub, you will be a player & coach contributing significant portions of code while also managing a small team of engineers. You will be the champion of best practices in software engineering, nurture and grow a team of engineers, and proactively collaborate with product leaders, designers, and stakeholders to ensure Avnet's communities remain a leader in technical community engagement and marketing innovation.

• Lead and oversee architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and zero‑defect engineering for our Ruby on Rails and React‑based platform hosted on Heroku and Google Cloud.
• Regularly present strategic technical insights, opportunities, and potential solutions in clear, business‑oriented terms.

• Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor platforms, and technological advancements, ensuring Avnet maintains technical superiority and relevance in the marketplace.
• Translate strategic business goals into technical requirements and solutions, proactively identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies to enhance platform performance and user experience.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and leadership to clarify feature requirements, prioritize backlogs, and drive clarity and alignment across product initiatives.
• Communicate transparently with stakeholders, regularly reporting progress, addressing challenges, and proactively mitigating risks.
• Coordinate and oversee continuous integration, automated testing, deployment processes, and maintain rigorous standards for code reviews and quality assurance.

• Manage agile development processes, ensuring that the engineering team consistently delivers high‑quality, secure, and reliable code on schedule.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high‑performing engineering team, ensuring they are well‑supported, productive, and aligned with Avnet's business and product strategies.

Typically 6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

• Demonstrable experience in full‑stack development with Ruby on Rails, JavaScript (ES6), React, PostgreSQL, Redis, and APIs.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (Heroku, Google Cloud Platform, AWS EC2/S3), containerization, and continuous integration tools.
