Overview
Raytheon’s Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) team, part of the Specialty Engineering Directorate, is looking for a software engineer to design, develop and support advanced windows application solutions for weapon system products. The role is 100% onsite at the Tucson, AZ location (805 ~ 1151 E Hermans Rd, BLDG 805). The position requires U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. government‑issued secret security clearance prior to start date.
Responsibilities- Design, develop and integrate object‑oriented software applications using C#, C++, in Microsoft Visual Studio on Windows operating systems.
- Prioritize and handle multiple software engineering tasks concurrently.
- Troubleshoot software and test equipment instrumentation.
- Work in a multidisciplinary engineering team environment.
- Develop and derive requirements for software products.
- Lead and mentor junior software engineers.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years experience.
- Experience developing and integrating software applications in languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python or Visual Basic.
- Proficient with integrated development environments and debugging tools in Windows and Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Experience with laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software (oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters).
- U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
- Experience with computer architecture and hardware optimization techniques.
- Developing software drivers for hardware interfaces.
- Knowledge of computer hardware interface protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, or RS‑422.
- Familiarity with UML for visualizing software architecture.
- Experience in software development life cycles (Waterfall, Agile).
- Experience with configuration management principles and tools (Microsoft Azure Dev Ops Server or Git Hub).
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience leading technical teams or projects.
