Overview
Raytheon Technologies invites applications for the Principal Systems Engineer position in Tucson, AZ. The role is onsite and requires U.S. citizenship along with the ability to obtain an interim or active DoD Secret security clearance. Candidate salary ranges from $107,500 to $204,500, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities- Update and maintain system and subsystem level requirements specifications for embedded software, configurable logic, and/or test systems software.
- Model system development and production processes using Cameo.
- Conduct trade studies and present results to customers.
- Act as a systems engineering technical contributor for verification and validation activities, ensuring all requirements are assessed.
- Collaborate closely with Systems, Software, Configurable Logic, and Test teams on program technical tasks.
- Participate in technical conversations with the customer.
- Serve as a knowledgeable go‑to systems engineer for software‑centric program capabilities.
- Onboard, mentor, and guide new team members, leveraging core systems engineering skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) plus a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
- Experience in Systems Engineering and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience in Requirements Development, Requirements Management, Requirements Verification, and Integration and Test for software products.
- Proficiency with Agile framework development methods and processes.
- Experience presenting analytical and technical presentations.
- Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks.
- Self‑starter who takes on tasks with limited guidance.
- Strong customer focus and collaboration skills.
- Experience with performance analysis, DOORS, cPDM, and Azure Dev Ops.
- Proficiency in Matlab, C, C#, C++, and Python.
- Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance.
- Understanding of the Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle and familiarity with system safety, reliability, and configuration management.
- Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field supporting integration and/or verification.
- Experience evaluating systems using simulated environments.
- Experience generating technical documentation such as trade studies, test plans, procedures, or technical reports.
- Experience integrating with test equipment, telemetry data analysis tools, and missile systems host platforms.
