Job Summary
Drive district vehicles to transport students on specified routes in accordance with scheduling requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assess incidents, complaints, and emergencies to recommend or resolve solutions.
- Assist students and passengers with seating, restraints, and special equipment for safe loading and unloading.
- Attend meetings and trainings to maintain district and state requirements.
- Communicate with parents, students, teachers, and administrators to convey or receive information.
- Drive school vans to transport regular and special education students on scheduled routes and for field trips.
- Escort children across streets to ensure their safety.
- Fuel the assigned vehicle (oil, water, fuel) to keep it in safe operating condition.
- Inform school personnel and parents of rules, regulations, laws, procedures, and suspicious situations.
- Maintain vehicle interior and exterior—cleaning floors, windows, seats—to ensure safety, appearance, and sanitation.
- Monitor passengers during transit to maintain order and safety.
- Perform first aid when necessary to meet passengers' immediate health care needs.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of fluid levels, tire pressure, and exterior condition.
- Prepare documentation (daily mileage, condition reports, incident/accident reports, inspections, behavior reports).
- Recommend routes to coordinate bus routes and maximize district transportation services.
- Comply with local traffic regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license.
- Current CPR and first aid certification.
- Minimum age 21 years.
- Ability to perform essential duties safely and satisfactorily.
Physical demands include frequent sitting, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, and walking. The noise level is usually moderate to loud.
Terms of Employment- Salary based on Grade C—$16.00 minimum.
- Schedule:
185 days, 7 hours per day. - Benefits as assigned for the position.

- Valid I‑9 form
- Pass a pre‑employment physical ability test
