You will help us maintain and repair our vehicles, diagnose mechanical issues, manage parts inventory, and charge parts and labor to work orders. We asked our Fleet Technicians what else we should let you know about working here, and this is what the team had to say about frequent tasks you can expect to perform:

  • You will use your extensive knowledge to assist entry-level mechanics with difficult repairs.
  • You will interact with a variety of Frito-Lay drivers, from professional truck drivers to salespeople.
  • This is a physical job which often involves working in tight spaces under vehicles.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining Peterbilt M220 / Freightliner M2, 6.7 Cummins ISB, Allison 2000, Newer Fleet of Volvo VNR Tractors, D13 / IShift, and multiple trailer platforms
  • Day-to-day activities such as scheduling and prioritizing work and preventative maintenance inspections, proactive/follow-up repairs, and demand work, including but not limited to brakes, u-joints/bearings, steering/suspension, starting/charging, emissions/drivability diagnosis, light engine repair such as water pumps, injectors, and fuel pumps

This is an experienced position. Here are our minimum requirements for you to consider prior to filling out our application:

  • You are at least 21 years of age or older
  • Your driver's license has not been suspended or revoked in connection with a moving violation within the past three (3) years
  • You can lift 50 pounds or more with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • You are able to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • You have the ability to work in tight spaces for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • You will be required to work on/under trucks for an entire shift (8 to 12 hours) with or without a reasonable accommodation

While the minimum qualifications are all you need to apply, top candidates will also have:

  • 3 years of previous technical experience with Class 8, Commercial Tractors and Trailers
  • Air Brake Systems Certification and the ability to read pneumatic and electrical drawings
  • Experience conducting preventative maintenance of all equipment and including Major and minor electrical troubleshoot
