Role Purpose
The Ramp Supervisor will supervise the unloading and loading of luggage, freight and cargo on and off commercial aircraft, and drive and operate small specialized commercial vehicles. This role requires heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending and stretching.
Responsibilities- Supervise lead agents and allocate ramp agent resources as needed
- Move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, air cargo facilities and other aircraft
- Ensure that ramp personnel adhere to established company safety regulations
- Act as a mentor, providing training to new employees
- Perform managerial duties such as interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving complaints and violations of company policy
- Complete shift reports and sign timecards
- Assist in preparing performance evaluation forms
- Prepare disciplinary incident and/or termination reports
- Assist in the baggage handling area
- Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed
- Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests and baggage and cargo routing tags
- Operate motorized equipment
You will have a responsibility and duty while at work to take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information, training and workplace health and safety rules or procedures. Whatwe are looking for
- Prior Ramp/Airline experience required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Pass pre‑employment drug screen and all pre‑employment testing
- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
- Must be comfortable lifting 70 lbs repetitively
- Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Pass FBI background check and obtain U.S. Customs Seal
- Report any significant deficiency in products, materials or documents
- Suggest improvements to working practices, especially those related to safety and security
- Have read and signed the Station Quality Manual, Emergency Response Procedures Manual and the Station Security Manual
- Have a high school diploma or GED
High school diploma or better.
Licenses & CertificationsDRIVERS LICENSE.
