Transfer Specialist

The Transfer Specialist is responsible for the care, removal, and transport of deceased. This role collaborates with other team members as required to ensure processes and procedures remain in compliance.

• Safely drive company‑owned professional vehicles to perform “first call” transfer of deceased in accordance with local, state/provincial laws and company policies.
• Follow chain‑of‑custody, paperwork, and deceased identification processes.
• Cooperate with first responders, coroner, hospital staff, or senior living facility and accommodate their processes.
• For home transfers, courteously and professionally interact with bereaved family members; exhibit sensitivity and minimize conversation.
• Follow company procedures in transferring soiled garments, bedding, or other materials; leave a warm and courteous first impression.
• Enter deceased event information into proprietary software according to company procedures.
• Transport caskets to airports, care centers, or funeral homes; assist with moving caskets.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness: wash, vacuum, and clean to ensure vehicle is presentable.
• Fuel vehicles as necessary and maintain personal protective and transfer supplies.
• Identify vehicle engine or operating issues, report to management, and drive vehicles for repair or inspection.
• Follow safety guidelines and expenditure processes.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• At least one (1) year of work experience as a courier or driver with direct customer interaction strongly preferred.

• Work schedule to support business needs, including weekends, nights, and holidays on a rotation basis.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push/pull up to 200 pounds.
• Ability to drive in hazardous, heavy traffic, and adverse weather conditions.
• Basic computer skills required.

• Work indoors and/or outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions.
• Local and/or multiple location traveling required.
• Compliance with Field dress code policy.
• Frequent, continuous periods of standing up to 6 hours per day.
• Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently.
• Physical effort requiring manual dexterity (paperwork, calculator, computer, phone usage).
• Manually lift, push, pull up to 75 pounds.
• Work hours beyond “standard” hours as the need arises.
• Local travel up to 100% using company vehicle.
