Logistics Specialist
The Logistics Specialist will perform a variety of technical and business tasks in support of the Shipping/Traffic function for both operations and engineering materials. Business planning framework responsible for making sure products reach their destinations safely, securely, and on time.
The logistics specialist will be required to prepare and process outbound shipping requests. The day-to-day responsibilities listed below are necessary in order to meet program costs and schedule requirements. Your qualifications could add tremendous value to our team. WhatYou Will Do
- Meet on time deliverables including program costs and scheduling requirements.
- Organize transportation activities, including managing information accrued from point of origin to delivery, orchestrating transportation movements, and arranging for services as necessary.
- Coordinate and certify shipments in accordance with 49 CFR, IATA, NISPOM, 32 CFR, AFMAN and the Defense Transportation Regulations.
- Maintain traffic accountability records, oversee the delivery of classified shipments, and arrange disposal of surplus or obsolete material.
- Prepare domestic and international shipping labels, Hazardous declarations, Bill of Laden, and airway bills for outbound movement.
- Coordinate and track movement of goods through logistic pathways.
- Execute logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on schedule.
- Prioritize daily workloads and maintain quality throughout the shipment process.
- Communicate directly with internal and external customers.
- You will work 1st shift.
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with shipping and packing hazardous materials for domestic and international movement.
- US Citizen - Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- 2 years of experience in a logistics, supply chain or related field
- Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for data analysis
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Experience with shipping government assets via TEAMS or ETOOLS.
