The Water Truck Driver is responsible for operating a water truck to transport and distribute water for various purposes, including dust control, compaction, and site maintenance on construction and mining locations. This role ensures the safe and efficient delivery of water, adheres to safety protocols, and maintains proper vehicle functioning.
Key Responsibilities- Operate water truck in accordance with site, state, and federal regulations.
- Distribute water on roads, construction sites, and other designated areas as directed.
- Conduct daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections of the water truck.
- Monitor water levels and refill tanks as required.
- Maintain accurate records of water delivery and truck maintenance activities.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to the vehicle.
- Communicate with supervisors and other team members regarding operational needs and site conditions.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training sessions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), appropriate for water truck operation.
- One year of experience operating commercial trucks, preferably in construction or mining environments.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance.
- Physical ability to lift, climb, and carry out manual labor tasks.
- Strong awareness of safety practices and procedures.
- Experience specifically operating water trucks.
- Knowledge of site-specific regulations and operational procedures.
- Familiarity with dust control and compaction techniques.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Adaptability to various site conditions and changing priorities.
- Problem-solving abilities relevant to vehicle operation and site tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
- Outdoor and all-weather environments.
- Physical labor, including lifting, climbing, and extended periods of driving.
- Variable hours and potential overtime.
