Job Overview
Raytheon Technologies (RTX) is seeking a Material Specialist for onsite work in Tucson, AZ. The role requires a U.S. citizen with a Secret security clearance, and an on‑site presence at the facility located at 1151 E Hermans Rd, BLDG 833.
ResponsibilitiesThe Material Specialist will perform core logistics functions including receiving, storing, issuing, inventory management, mail sorting, and delivery. Key duties include:
- Loads, unloads, and moves materials, property, and miscellaneous items on and off incoming trucks or vehicles using powered industrial vehicles, pallet jacks, carts, and manual equipment.
- Opens containers, cartons, wood crates, bundles, and similar items using hand tools.
- Sorts and prioritizes mail and materials for processing based on established priorities.
- Identifies and reports any obvious damage to materials and property.
- Validates material and property identification and quantities against documentation and system information.
- Performs manual and weight counts, records and updates logs, forms, and documentation, and enters transactional data into systems.
- Attaches identifying tags, markings, and labels to materials, containers, and receptacles.
- Packages materials, property, or miscellaneous items using available supplies and equipment.
- Ensures equipment is in proper working condition and performs preventive maintenance.
- Loads material/property onto trucks, vans, trailers, and installs strapping or blocking to prevent shifting in transit.
- Excellent experience operating powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and hand tools.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics functions (receiving, storing, issuing, inventory, delivery, packing, shipping).
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance.
This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement; wage, workplace conditions, and shift times are governed by that agreement.
