Location: Tukwila, WA (so‑called DHS facility, Seattle Community Justice Center, 1550 4th Ave South, Seattle, WA 98144)

Salary Range: $4,036.00 – $5,379.00 (DOC WFSE Monthly Salary Range 41)
Recruitment: INTERNAL – open only to current, permanent Department of Corrections employees. Employees assigned to a permanent duty station in King County receive a 5% premium pay calculated from their base salary. A free ORCA card is provided for employees assigned to King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties.
Position OverviewUnder general supervision of the Community Corrections Supervisor, the Office Assistant Lead provides high‑level clerical and secretarial support to the Community Corrections Supervisor and Community Corrections Officers. The role combines independent, complex secretarial responsibilities with direct assistance to supervisory staff.
Responsibilities- Review court orders and enter/retrieve data from the Offender Management Network Information (OMNI) system using specialized knowledge and independent judgement.
- Perform file management tasks, including file setup, closing, and archiving.
- Maintain and update a log of weekly caseloads.
- Serve as the receptionist, greeting and conferring with supervised individuals and the public, and directing inquiries to the appropriate Community Corrections Officer.
- Answer a multi‑line telephone system.
- Provide back‑up support duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of clerical experience that required keyboarding or typing.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds.
- Ability to navigate internal databases.
- Ability to proofread written material and correct errors in sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for staff, supervised individuals, public, and stakeholders.
- Experience working in an office setting.
- Experience working with databases.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Fourteen to twenty‑five paid vacation days per year (depending on years of service).
