We are looking for an experienced Service Supervisor to assist our Western Washington state Commercial Power Generation in achieving our mission of helping our customers succeed by providing premier solutions, delivered safely by engaged employees through teamwork and excellence.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the daily operations of Prep and CSA service groups, demonstrate management skills provide support to a team of highly trained diesel technicians.
- Plan and schedule shop and field duties which include annual and quarterly services, fuel oil and coolant samples, and load banking generators and industrial equipment repairs.
- Schedule technicians according to knowledge, repair capabilities and experience. Work closely with sales, product support, warranty, technical communication and parts groups to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Prepare and manage all open work orders, manage all expenses (hours/parts, etc.) related to those work orders, have heavy phone contact with customers and technicians on repair jobs, status or issues.
- Compile & track operational data, recruit/interview new technicians, coach & counsel employees on work related issues, investigate near-misses, accidents or injuries and prepare appropriate reports.
- Position also will be managing department budgets, expenses and performance reviews for department employees.
- 2-4 years progressive management experience in a service setting, previous Cat Dealership preferred, Caterpillar marine product knowledge, service and technical skills.
- Previous experience with Detroit Diesel, MTU, Volvo diesel marine engines and generators expected.
- Previous service work order databases such as DBS and financial programs such as Cognos highly desired.
- Proficient in Excel, Word and other business software.
- Strong communication skills, and be able to meet ever changing priorities and deadlines.
- Must have & maintain valid state driver license.
- Occasional travel, customer site visitations, which could include marine vessels on open water as well as the ability to represent NC at customer or company functions.
- Must be able to obtain an 07 electrician administers license and responsibilities of the administer
