- The Materials and Processes Engineering team is seeking MP&P Engineer 2 professionals to support the Puget Sound NDE and Measurement Systems organization. This role supports commercial and defense aircraft programs across the full product lifecycle, including research, development, production, and in-service support. The engineer will develop NDE procedures, design reference standards, support tool qualification, and assist with supplier audits and corrective actions.

This position is first shift and 100% onsite with potential domestic travel.

#Education & Job Requirements

* Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor's degree) and typically 2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

* A minimum of 1 year of engineering experience.
#Professional Attributes

* Strong interest in non-destructive evaluation work with a general base of NDE knowledge and/or experience.

* Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently as a self-starter.

#Preferred Skills

* Experience with CAD systems such as CATIA or Solid Works.

* Experience with NDI systems, including ultrasonics and eddy current.

* Experience in aviation and/or aerospace.

* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.

* Strong documentation and technical writing skills.

* Strong time management skills to manage multiple simultaneous projects across various geographical locations.

* Knowledge of materials science with metals and/or composites.

#Job Duties & Functions

* Develop NDE procedures in support of airline customer maintenance inspections.

* Design NDE reference standards in support of inspection procedures.

* Develop engineering specifications and supporting documentation.

* Assist in the evaluation of emerging technologies for potential business applications.

* Assist with the development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes.

* Perform routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.

* Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.

* Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.

* Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into materials and processes, research, design, and qualification activities, work procedures, and laboratory and office environments.
