Job Overview

Electrical Engineering Manager – Electromagnetic Effects (EME) & Reliability, Maintainability & System Health (RM&SH) d multi‑disciplinary engineering teams supporting EME and RM&SH technical expertise for the Bombers (MS&B) business unit in Tukwila, WA.

Responsibilities
  • Manage resources, processes, program support, and functional participation to ensure successful execution of EME and RM&SH work statements.
  • Develop and implement viable schedules and resource plans, coordinating with BDS, BGS,  &T, ET&T, and BCA sites through all phases of design, analysis, test, verification, and sustainment.
  • Lead a diverse workforce, orchestrating cross‑discipline integration and continuous process improvement with Lean+ principles.
  • Provide technical management of suppliers and partners supporting EME and RM&SH activities and resolve cross‑functional technical issues to ensure compliance with program and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee technical approaches, products, and processes for EME (EMI/C, HIRF/Lightning, shielding/grounding/filtering, antenna coupling, TEMPEST/EMSEC, nuclear hardening, EMI test/analysis) and RM&SH (reliability analyses, maintainability design‑for‑support, diagnostics, obsolescence mitigation, sustainment strategy, system health & prognostics).
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer between EME and RM&SH engineers through regular one‑on‑one meetings and mentorship.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, manager, large‑scale project/program management, or completion of Boeing’s “Exploring Leadership” course).
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a related technical discipline (ABET‑accredited preferred).
  • Experience managing engineers or technical professionals in an engineering environment.
  • Experience coordinating multi‑discipline technical activities while balancing schedule, cost, and performance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to customers and stakeholders.
  • Preferred: ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or Master/PhD in electrical engineering.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance (typically U.S. Secret or Top Secret) required.
  • Prior experience in defense or aerospace industry and familiarity with electromagnetic concepts (RF isolation, shielding, grounding, filtering) and RM&SH concepts (reliability analysis, FMEAs, Weibull/MTTF, prognostics).
  • Proficiency with EME test and analysis tools (HIRF/Lightning, EMI/EMC, TEMPEST, antenna coupling, nuclear hardening) and RM&SH tools (reliability block diagrams, FMEAs, Weibull/MTTF analyses, health management).
  • Experience with certification processes and producing verification/validation artifacts.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Agile, or continuous improvement methodologies beneficial.
