Position Overview

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers Structures Capability is seeking a Mechanical & Structural Engineering Manager (K Level) to lead a high-performing Structures Design team on the P-8 program in Tukwila, WA.

The successful candidate will have strong engineering expertise, ability to lead projects to completion, possess outstanding communication skills, an interest in growing and developing their team, and a demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.

Position Responsibilities
  • Keep safety and quality at the forefront of all activities.
  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering.
  • Lead development of engineering solutions in support of current and future projects.
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management, and lead process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manage, develop, and motivate employees.
Location & Availability

This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA.

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large‑scale cross‑functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Aerospace Industry working in Structural Design or Analysis.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams responsible for aerospace structural design and/or structural analysis tasks.
  • Knowledge of Boeing products and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.
  • Technical background with the ability to guide and mentor the team.
Shift

This is a 1st shift position.

Summary Pay Range: $147,050 – 198,950
