Transportation Project Manager
The City of Tukwila is in search of a Transportation Project Manager. Under the direction of the Senior Program Manager for Transportation and the City Engineer, the Transportation Project Manager performs professional level project management activities and coordinates all aspects of large, complex capital improvement projects. This role will increase the capacity of the Public Works Engineering Division and will focus on delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective streets, bridges, pedestrian facilities, and traffic operations support.
The position will plan, coordinate, and direct the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for design, technical services, and construction contracts supporting the City’s transportation infrastructure. You will also contribute to the overall management of critical traffic control devices and pavement preservation through asset management, preventative maintenance plans, and risk identification and mitigation. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the prioritization of capital projects and programs and inform the biennial budget development process.

Its central location lies in the heart of the Puget Sound region, sitting 12 miles south of downtown Seattle, 17 miles north of downtown Tacoma, and just east of Sea Tac Airport.
It is easily accessed by I-5 and I-405 or via either of Tukwila's two train stations, the Sounder Station or the Sound Transit Light Rail Station.

The Public Works Department provides the foundation for high quality of life in Tukwila by protecting the health and safety of residents, visitors, and businesses. The Department is responsible for design, construction, operations, and maintenance of the City's essential transportation, water, sewer, and surface water infrastructure. Public Works also supports other departments through the management and maintenance of the City's vehicles and facilities assets.
The department is comprised of 67 employees organized into four divisions:
Administration, Engineering, Maintenance & Operations, and Fleet & Facilities.

Salary Range: $10,286 - $12,504 per month. This position is represented by the Teamsters 763.
