Overview

Second Nature Brands is on a mission to grow from $500M to $1B over the next 4 years through an aggressive combination of M&A and organic growth. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sanitation Technician
, who will be an important member of the supply chain team during this growth.
Sanitation Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the manufacturing facility, equipment, and utensils in accordance with Sahale Snacks’ sanitation standards. This role is critical in preventing microbial contamination and allergen cross-contamination, thereby ensuring the production of safe, high-quality food products.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner, adhering to Company work rules.
  • Follow Company’s Good Manufacturing Processes at all times.
  • Perform detailed cleaning tasks through sanitation checklist and master sanitation schedule.
  • Clean and sanitize all production equipment including ovens, mixers, conveyor belts, elevator buckets, and utensils.
  • Execute dry cleaning, controlled wet cleaning procedures.
  • Document all cleaning activities and maintain chemical usage and cleaning logs.
  • Responsible for inventory and storing of sanitation supplies and chemicals.
  • Confer with management and production personnel on problems and recommend changes in equipment, procedures, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and product quality.
  • Follow allergen control protocols.
  • Collaborate with QA technicians for ATP and allergen swab testing and re-clean as necessary.
  • Support verification efforts by area leads and QA team to ensure sanitation completeness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.
Experience
  • Prior experience working in a food manufacturing facility preferred but not required.
Qualifications
  • Able to work with and around cleaning chemicals and perform all sanitation duties.
  • Demonstrated reliable attendance record and ability to comply with attendance policy; understand punctuality is key.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work safely around/with automated and semi-automated machinery.
  • Must be able to work safely around food allergens such as tree nuts, dairy, and soy.
  • Ability to read and comprehend training materials and answer any accompanying comprehension quizzes.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, bend, reach, and kneel for extended periods frequently.
  • Standing for 8-10 hours.
  • Walk up and down stairs frequently.
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) provided by the company.
Work Environment
  • Indoor food manufacturing setting with potential exposure to moving mechanical parts and high noise levels; personal protective equipment may be required.
  • Exposure to food production areas, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures.
  • This position is based out of the Sahale Snacks facility in Tukwila, WA.

Schedule & Compensation Notes

Regular working hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00pm to 6:30am, with weekday or weekend overtime as needed. The starting rate is $23.00 per hour plus an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential; compensation may vary based on relevant experience.
