This is an Ameri Corps/Washington Service Corps national service position, contingent on funding and open until filled. Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Employment for Women (ANEW) is a nonprofit based in South King County that connects people to free training and support for trades careers. Many adults are interested in better work but are not connected to workforce services. They may not have the networks or information needed to take the next step.
This Ameri Corps position supports ANEW’s Access to Opportunity:
Enrollment and Engagement Pilot Project by expanding early community connection. The member will serve in neighborhoods and public spaces to share information about ANEW programs, answer questions, distribute outreach materials, gather contact information, and support follow up.
Monthly stipend amount: $1,942.
Member DutiesThe Community Outreach Associate will help ANEW reach people who are not currently connected through existing channels and improve access to job readiness and training services. They will engage community members in outreach settings by sharing information about ANEW programs and answering questions; collect leads and follow up with prospective participants to support early enrollment steps; document outreach contacts and outcomes;
coordinate handoffs to other staff and programs.
