Job DescriptionThis role is a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. The position supports plasma center operations, including donor eligibility, adverse event management, laboratory review, and EHS support.
How You Will Contribute- Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, and self‑exclusion.
- Conduct medical history interviews, physical exams, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and transport.
- Report medical findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
- High school diploma or nursing program graduate.
- Licensed or certified RN, NP, or PA in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
