Job Description
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you report to the Plasma Center Manager and support plasma center operations. You determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. The position operates under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician for medical issues. You should be familiar with plasma collection regulations and follow Bio Life’s medical guidelines, while also providing environmental, health and safety (EHS) support at the center.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility—including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies.
- Assist in developing the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues affecting donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation with occupational health/ER under EHS guidance.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS to support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or graduate‑equivalent recognized nursing program meeting state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Valid CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Location:
Tukwila, WA, US. U.S. hourly wage range: $31.15 – $42.84. Actual wage offered will depend on qualifications, experience, specific skills, education level, certifications, and local minimum wage requirements.
