Plasma Center Nurse- RN

About the Role

In this position you will support plasma center operations as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse). You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The role is performed under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) and the Center Physician for medical issues.

• Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements.
• Conduct physical examination, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions that occur at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when required to report unacceptable findings or address medical or technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility.
• Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is needed by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate‑level recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current license or certification in the state of assignment:
  Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Location:

USA – WA – Tukwila
Hourly wage range: $44.00 – $60.50 per hour. The actual hourly wage will be contingent on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. U.S. employees may receive up to 80 hours of sick time and new hires up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
