Purpose:
As the Wood Department Lead, you will be instrumental in driving sales and delivering an exceptional shopping experience by following established company guidelines on customer service, training, and development.
Major ResponsibilitiesThese responsibilities encompass both customer service and administrative tasks essential for the role.
Customer Service- Teach and uphold the P's of retail:
People, Product, Price, Purchasing, Position, Presentation, Promotion, and Pro Services. - Enhance customer engagement and ensure our store associates deliver top-tier service and shopping experiences.
- Strategically merchandise and follow company guidelines for effective merchandising practices.
- Maintain outstanding store presentation standards and ensure customer and employee safety by following loss prevention and risk management protocols.
- Collaborate with the Chief Executive Merchant to foster a customer-first environment that is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.
- Act as KCM or Manager on Duty when required.
- Conduct weekly competitive analyses to stay ahead.
- Communicate pricing and inventory issues with senior management.
- Review business reports to optimize merchandising, inventory, and pricing strategies, including Profit Loss statements (P&L), Category Performance Report (CPR), and others.
- Utilize technology for accurate inventory and profit management, including shipping and receiving tasks.
- Ensure brand and operating standards meet or exceed company expectations.
- Collaborate with corporate headquarters staff as necessary.
- Ensure optimal scheduling for peak traffic times.
- Conduct timely performance reviews for store associates.
- Train, mentor, and define responsibilities for store associates effectively.
- Monitor associate retention and communicate development efforts to the Chief Executive Merchant.
- Address and document performance issues in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with hiring, scheduling, payroll, and business planning processes.
- Follow and uphold company policies and expectations.
- Perform other managerial duties as required.
- Assist the Chief Executive Merchant with human resources and loss prevention issues at the store level.
- Be available for store opening and closing responsibilities.
- 3-5 years of retail management experience with a proven track record of operational success.
- Thrive in a dynamic, high-volume retail environment.
- Demonstrate self-initiative and a proactive work ethic.
- Proficient in recruiting, hiring, and training associates.
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Exercise independent judgment in managing a fast-paced setting while adapting to changes quickly.
- Track record of enhancing the company's market share.
- Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
- This position involves frequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles, with a noise level ranging from quiet to moderate.
Ability to exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally, 20-30 pounds frequently, and/or lift up to 20 pounds constantly. Responsibilities may include handling objects, standing, walking, and other physical movements.
Store HoursMonday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
