Responsibilities
- Receive work assignment from team leader or supervisor and obtain necessary materials and equipment
- Obtain appropriate engineering drawings and test documents, as required, for assignment
- Fabricate wire or fiber optic bundles used to connect various types of test and computer equipment together
- Set up and perform qualification test, bench test, or automatic test as required per work assignment
- Install fiber optic strain gages, thermocouples, accelerometers, and strain gages
- Use a scissor or boom lift to access areas for instrumentation installation
- Perform modification of test equipment to meet engineering configuration
- Select proper hand, power, and/or bench tools needed to perform required operation
- Use shop tools and any test equipment required to complete work assignment
- Write tie-ins, and maintain records such as work log
- Devise and/or build shop aids and work around methods as necessary
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner
- Maintain personal and tool certifications as required
- Comply with applicable tool control policies
- 1+ year of experience reading and interpreting wire harness diagrams and installation schematics
- 1+ year of experience in electrical (wire shop) fabrication and required processes
- 3+ years of strain gaging experience (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in Aircraft Electrical systems (preferred)
- Certification(s) in Electrical (Crimping, Bond and Ground);
Mechanical (Fork lift, Hand truck, Pressure/vacuum); or Safety (Electrical, Egress, Explosives) (preferred)
Demonstrates expertise in electrical fabrication processes, including wire harness diagram interpretation and strain gaging. Proficient in using various hand and power tools while adhering to safety and compliance standards.
