this position will be based in our tukwila site serving south king county. Burien site serves many families who are spanish‑speaking only. You would be an integral part of this team of innovators who explore and develop new approaches and implement novel strategies for engaging families.

what we offer:
- starting pay range: $26.19–$27.76 per hour
- first responder pay: $75.00 per pay period (2 times per month)
- bi‑lingual fluency skills in spanish and english: $100–200 per pay period (2 times per month) tiered language stipend based on proficiency and family needs
- ability to earn additional pay: based on performance
training and supervision:
- daily and weekly supervision with your clinical supervisor

peer counselors (parent partners) are individuals with personal history as a parent of a youth/child who has been a recipient of behavioral health, child welfare, complex medical coordination or juvenile justice services. They use that personal experience to build support for families. Successful applicants must have first‑person experience as a parent of a youth who received system services and be prepared to disclose their experiences with youth, parents and others.
job summary:
peer counselors collaborate, provide support and help facilitate services for youth and their families receiving family behavioral health services. Working as a member of a team, the peer counselor helps a parent voice their perspective and ensures other team members understand and incorporate that perspective in treatment planning. This position helps youth, parents and families achieve confidence in their abilities to team on a recovery journey and maintain hope for their success after formal services have completed.
emphasis is on achieving incredible outcomes by partnering with children, youth and families along with their natural and community supports to achieve long‑term safety and stability.
this position requires scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of youth and families served. Services are provided in community‑based settings and in family homes. The position will be based out of our tukwila/burien site.
qualificationswhat we are seeking in a candidate:
- high school diploma or equivalent.
- age 21 or older.
- personal lived experience as a parent of a child who has been or is receiving community or mental health services within the past ten years.
- ability to drive to family homes within the community with reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance with an acceptable driving record per ccs policy.
- ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- ability to visually assess safety within family homes and in the community.
- availability to flex some work hours.
- preference for a flexible schedule rather than a traditional, fixed 8‑5, monday‑through‑friday, facility‑based position.
- demonstrate the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi‑cultural situations.
- applicant must successfully pass required background clearances prior to an offer of employment.
