Travel Licensed Vocational Nurse

Objective Provides nursing care within the scope of practice to ensure patients’ needs are met by standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal, and local guidelines.

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates, and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual to identify, place, and monitor patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications in a timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments in a timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by the Nurse Practice Act.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Qualifications

• The candidate will hold a current license as LVN/LPN in the state of California if the contract is in the state of California. Possess a compact license if working in a Compact state.
• One year prior nursing experience is preferred.
• Long Term Care experience is a must.
• The candidate will have sufficient knowledge of computer charting and be proficient with typing.
