Dispensing Nurse – LVN/LPT
Tulare, CA | Per-Diem | Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $27.69 – $32.10 per hour
The Dispensing Nurse is responsible for supporting individuals receiving substance use disorder treatment through medication dispensing, nursing services, health assessments, and coordination with multidisciplinary treatment teams. This role helps clients achieve their highest level of functioning while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities- Dispense NTP medications utilizing the AVATAR dispensing system
- Complete health assessments, vital signs, TB testing, blood draws, and specimen collection
- Collaborate with the Medical Director and treatment team
- Maintain accurate documentation and medication records
- Process physician orders and communicate with pharmacies
- Monitor medication inventory and order supplies
- Participate in audits, reviews, and quality assurance activities
- Provide nursing coverage and client support as needed
- Current LVN or LPT license in the State of California
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Knowledge of medication administration and nursing procedures
- Strong communication, clinical assessment, and documentation skills
- Experience in substance use disorder treatment or behavioral health
- Experience with methadone treatment programs
- Familiarity with AVATAR dispensing systems
- Knowledge of DHCS, DEA, and CARF requirements
- Addiction nursing certifications a plus
