Job Summary

Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff while coordinating care with other disciplines through critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making.

Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN):

  • Acute care facility experience:

Licenses/Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice:
    Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from an approved vendor per AH policy:
    Required
  • AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS:
    Required
  • AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS:
    Required
  • AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS:

  • AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS:

Essential Functions
  • Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health status or situation.
  • Analyzes assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses and patient care needs.
  • Develops individualized plans of care with appropriate interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Implements nursing interventions, coordinates patient care, and promotes a safe, therapeutic environment.
  • Evaluates patient progress and modifies the plan of care as needed.
  • Identifies expected outcomes for patients based on assessment findings.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide safe, compassionate, and effective care.
  • Provides education and health information to patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
  • Delegates responsibilities appropriately and coordinates activities of healthcare team members.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
