This is a Part Time Weekends Only Role: 16-20 hours Total Per Week
Job SummaryThe Laboratory Technician will travel to local dairies to collect milk samples, transport them safely back to the lab, and accurately log and record sample information. Once in the lab, you will prepare and culture milk samples by placing droplets onto slides or petri dishes for testing to identify potential pathogens. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean and organized laboratory, performing general housekeeping, preparing supplies for various tests, and assisting with secondary testing as needed.
After becoming proficient in core duties, you will have the opportunity to learn more advanced testing methods and reporting procedures, contributing to overall lab operations and efficiency.

- Assist with various tasks in the office and duties within the laboratory
- Perform physical, bacteriological, chemical, or serological tests on a variety of samples
- Perform a variety of dairy procedures including standard and lab pasteurized plate counts, coliform counts, mastitis tests, RID assays, phosphatase, and inhibitory substances tests
- Prepare specialized bacteriological culture media and reagents according to formulae
- Follow standards and procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Log samples and related pertinent information
- Maintain accurate detailed records
- Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment
- Keep current with technical development

- In addition to the essential functions listed below, the incumbent may perform the following additional functions.
- As business needs require, pick‑up milk samples and deliver them to the lab in a timely fashion and meet predetermined route expectations while handling all customer interactions with professionalism, skill, and expediency
- Perform all work in accordance with Company Safety guidelines and procedures, including all required safety and Compliance Training and regulatory licensing
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic laboratory skills and an understanding of essential tools and equipment
- Proven data management skills with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Analytical skills and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to accurately complete testing in a timely and efficient manner
- Self‑motivated
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal, communication skills
- Capable of working independently with some guidance
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to work as a collaborative and effective team member
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass drug test and background study
- Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- Minimum of six (6) months experience as a Laboratory Technician or related experience

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount would be based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills. $18.32 - $22.50
