Job Overview

The Advanced Solutions Group specializes in the design, construction, and operation of unique and complex research and development facilities for aerospace, automotive, defence, nuclear, and motorsports markets. We lead projects for clients such as Audi, Boeing, GM, NASA, and the U.S. Navy. This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead and manage structural projects within a multi‑discipline team.

• Lead and manage structural projects from concept through construction, ensuring client satisfaction and delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Apply design loads to structures using applicable building codes (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE). Design and analyze structures with both hand analysis and finite element analysis (STAAD, ANSYS preferred).
• Develop engineering design calculation packages, including static, dynamic, blast, vibration, and thermal stresses.
• Oversee designers/drafters in the development of 3D models, 2D construction drawings, and bid packages that include calculations, specifications, and drawings.
• Perform post‑design activities such as review of subcontractor submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Conduct site inspections at fabricator shops and construction sites to verify compliance with contract documents.
• Provide leadership and mentorship for junior engineers and drafters.
• Coordinate and communicate design solutions with clients and other engineering disciplines; prepare presentations, reports, and studies.
• Assist with project planning, cost estimating, proposals, project management, and marketing for small projects.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive structural design experience.
• Proficiency in finite element modeling (STAAD, ANSYS or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of building codes such as IBC, AISC, ACI, and ASCE.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing a small team of structural engineers and drafters.
• Excellent time‑management and organizational skills.
• U.S. citizenship required (federal requirement).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
• Experience with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, dynamic loading, blast loading, and UFC Codes is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform project management or marketing on small projects is a plus.

• Must be able to sit and work at a computer for long periods (90%).
• Occasional site visits and travel; may require lifting, climbing, crawling in outdoor environments (up to 15% of time).
• Pumps, equipment, or PPE may be required during site visits.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Regular attendance is mandatory; work hours Monday through Thursday 7:30am‑5:15pm and Friday 7:30am‑11:30am.
• Occasional overtime may be required to meet project schedules.
• Must pass a pre‑employment drug and background test.

Annual salary: $105,000 (good‑faith estimate; actual compensation may vary).
