• Perform aerothermal test engineering functions with minimal supervision.
• Assist in the coordination and generation of requirements, analysis objectives, measures of performance, and success criteria for hypersonic weapon systems.
• Advising and assisting the government and customer during the test planning process, including assessment of test conditions and handling of test cell/test article interactions.
• Lead Technical, Safety, and Readiness Review Boards.
• Direct the execution of hypersonic ground tests.
• Conduct in‑depth analysis of resulting test data to meet analysis objectives.
• Prepare quick‑look reports and detailed technical reports, documenting test planning, data processing, analysis, and conclusions/recommendations.
• Review state‑of‑the‑art test and analysis techniques in literature and apply them to specific project requirements, supporting analysis‑technique development efforts.
• Operate in a fast‑paced environment, prioritizing work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
• Utilize a variety of government and in‑house simulation codes and analysis tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering (undergraduate or junior engineers are eligible).
• Advanced degree or relevant coursework related to aerothermal testing, thermal protection systems, fluid‑thermal‑structural interactions, computational heat transfer, optical diagnostics, or statistical analysis is a plus.
• Proficiency with Scientific Python (primary) and MATLAB (secondary).
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and timely work at the appropriate level.
• Demonstrated teamwork, customer relations, and proactive collaboration with senior staff and peers.
• Commitment to safety, security, and adherence to office‑based environment requirements.
• Must obtain or have an active and transferable DoD security clearance (Secret) and maintain the required clearance level.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
