Job Title:
Senior Mechanical Engineer.
Location:
Arnold AFB, Tullahoma, TN.
- Develop technical requirements for capital improvement projects and procurements.
- Develop and review Technical Requirement Documents.
- Provide mechanical design, systems, and/or operations experience.
- Make recommendations for best technical COAs (Course of Action).
- Develop and review mechanical specifications for systems or designs.
- Develop and review Statements of Objectives (SOO), Statements of Work (SOW), and other procurement specific documentation.
- Review and evaluate procurement packages for technical soundness.
- Develop technical evaluation criteria for proposal evaluation.
- Assist in technical evaluation of vendor proposals.
- Perform market research and assist in development of Independent Government Estimates.
- Provide technical expertise in design reviews and the design process in general.
- Consolidate and communicate technical information for project team.
- Assist in development of project plans, schedules, and estimates.
- Highly organized.
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- May be required to travel 5‑10% of the time.
- Minimum Education:
Scientist and Engineer 3 – BS in Science or Engineering field, or substitution as described below;
Scientist and Engineer 4 – MS, or substitution;
Subject Matter Expert – exceptional/highly unique expertise, recognized industry leader in a given area of expertise.
Substitutions:
• A Bachelor’s degree can be substituted with 6 years of relevant experience or an Associate’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
• A Master’s degree can be substituted with 12 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience.
- Scientist and Engineer 3 – 3‑10 years of experience.
- Scientist and Engineer 4 – 10+ years of experience.
- Subject Matter Expert – exceptional/highly unique expertise, recognized industry leader in a given area of expertise.
Ability to obtain Secret clearance required for job. May begin work with an interim clearance.
