Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000 /year
OverviewBeyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Technology Development Engineer, supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment contract at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, TN. The individual will be working as a member of the Engineering Solutions branch responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. The Engineering Solutions branch performs cutting‑edge technology development work in support of the National Defense Strategy.

Job SummaryThe successful candidate will support various technology development initiatives, including the expansion of additive manufacturing applications for ground test facilities, Artificial Intelligence, Test Technique Development, and more. This role involves hands‑on development of technologies, process optimization, and collaboration with a team of engineers to produce and qualify these new systems. The candidate will be a proactive problem‑solver, eager to learn, and dedicated to delivering high‑quality results in a fast‑paced R&D environment.
Job Duties- Develop solutions for a variety of aerospace ground test technology development projects.
- Implement modeling & simulation techniques to assess technology designs.
- Assist in the development and execution of test plans for system development, material characterization and process qualification.
- Collaborate with design and analysis teams to apply Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles to new and existing parts.
- Work to transition technologies successfully into the mission areas including developing transition plans and other.
- Utilize new technologies such as AI to accelerate Engineering Solutions development activities and processes.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering, or a related scientific discipline from an accredited university.
- Two years of work experience in an engineering environment.
- Must be able to obtain & maintain security clearance & access to DoD network & computer systems.
- Due to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or SOLIDWORKS).
- Familiarity with metal additive manufacturing processes and materials (e.g., Copper, Inconel, stainless steel).
- Familiarity with modeling techniques for systems (e.g., FEA, CFD).
- Experience with metrology and inspection techniques like 3D scanning or CMM.
- Experience utilizing AI/ML tools.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
