Aeronautical Engineer

PERIKIN Enterprises is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer to join our innovative team in Tullahoma, TN. As an Aeronautical Engineer, the position has the primary responsibility for the technical success of Test and Evaluation (T&E) technology development and test projects at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold AFB, TN, and various hypersonic facilities across the country. Emphasis is placed on the employee's engineering background and their desire to further advance their engineering knowledge and skills.

In addition, the Aeronautical Engineer will collaborate with the management team on contracting, scheduling, and financial management aspects of project management.

This position offers a hybrid telework schedule.

• Support development of new ground test, flight test, instrumentation and analysis technologies and test techniques;
• Oversee planning, execution, analysis and reporting of aerodynamic wind tunnel ground test and evaluation;
• Perform independent engineering analysis in support of design validation, and in the process of technical issue resolution;
• Provide technical subject matter expertise supporting integrated product teams (IPTs) during the development of high energy test facility systems;
• Support test activities in long duration, short duration and shock tunnel aerodynamic test facilities;
• Supporting field installation and/or operational test activities as required;
• Coordinating requirements, plans and analysis objectives with internal and external test customers;
• Leading the preparation of detailed test plans;
• Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on ground test facility and/or flight test performance and delivery of final, validated data to customers;
• Lead the identification and resolution of design and operational deficiencies;
• Work with other support staff to manage cost and schedule and prepare monthly status reports of technical, financial and schedule performance;
• Track execution and notifying leadership of technical issues;
• Support Government, industry, and academia working groups on emerging aerodynamic ground test and evaluation of specialized technical areas of interest.

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace engineering, or appropriate related discipline.
• Master's degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace engineering, or appropriate related discipline is highly desired.

• 0-2 years of direct experience in engineering, planning, conducting and analyzing test programs in aerodynamic ground test facilities;
• Demonstrated engineering experience in aerodynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, compressible flow, and design;
• Knowledge of hypersonic ground test facilities, to include aspects such as test techniques, analysis and uncertainty assessments, aero-optic measurement systems, pressure and heat flux instrumentation, force and moment measurement, and propulsion integration testing;
• Experience with high speed or hypersonic systems and related performance and operability analysis of aerodynamic performance, structures, and windows/radomes are highly desired;
• An unwavering attention to detail, exemplary work ethic, and grace under pressure;
• The ability to build positive relationships with coworkers, customers and executing organizations;
• The mastery of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
• Expertise with AutoCAD, MATLAB and computational fluid dynamics analysis tools are highly desired;
• Excellence in oral communication, technical writing and presentation preparation ;
• A current Secret security clearance or eligibility for Secret clearance
• The willingness for up to 15% travel;
