Job Description & How to Apply Below

Ventek Solutions (Ventek) is a leading manufacturer specializing in engineered shape molded foam components, protective packaging, and multi-material assembly solutions. The organization helps customers address complex challenges in product protection, component light-weighting, insulation, and design simplification. Ventek’s services span a variety of industries, including construction, automotive, electronics, medical, and more. Ventek Solutions leverages creative design, thoughtful engineering, and meticulous program management to deliver customized solutions.

Ventek operates 9 plants in the US and Mexico with corporate headquarters in Charleston, SC.

In 2024, Black Diamond Capital Management acquired the Protective Solutions segment of Sonoco Products Company, rebranding the business as Ventek Solutions LLC. This acquisition encompassed the existing manufacturing footprint along with the embedded design engineering, program management, and commercial resources. As Ventek Solutions, we are dedicated to maintaining our advanced capabilities in creative design, thoughtful engineering, meticulous program management, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our team and support our plants in Tullahoma and Mt. Pleasant, TN. Candidates should be local to one of these plant locations and have the ability to travel to either/both locations weekly. The role is onsite daily and reports to the Vice President of Human Resources.

  • Responsible for the full employee life cycle — from hiring and onboarding through development, retention and offboarding — with an emphasis on creating a positive employee experience at every stage.
  • Partners with plant leadership on coaching, development, employee relations matters and investigations as needed.
  • Leads talent building, training and organizational development for both plants.
  • Leads and supports employee engagement and culture activities.
  • Champions a continuous improvement culture, supporting lean and problem-solving initiatives and building workforce capability to sustain them.
  • Ensures accurate timekeeping and payroll data for timely payroll processing.
  • Monitors local wage practices and employment trends.
  • Partners with plant leadership and Finance on headcount planning, labor budgeting and cost control, providing the workforce data and analysis behind the annual budget, forecasts and management of labor spend against plan.
  • Works with plant leadership and corporate Talent Acquisition to determine staffing needs and develop job descriptions, and manages the plant hiring process — job postings, hourly recruiting, interviewing and selection.
  • Conducts onboarding and training and supports management in monitoring performance to Ventek standards.
  • Maintains employment-related documentation — personnel files, I-9s and required recordkeeping — in compliance with company policy and applicable law.
  • Serves as point of contact for benefit programs, including open enrollment, enrollment support, plan questions and issue resolution.
  • Manages leave of absence requests including FMLA, ADA and workers’ compensation matters.
  • Serves as the plant point of contact for state and local agencies on unemployment claims, wage-and-hour inquiries and other employment matters, including hearings.
  • Maintains working knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends policy updates as needed.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of six years’ experience working in one or more functional areas of Human Resources or a related area, with at least four years’ experience with Employee Relations, Policy and Procedure administration, safety, compliance, and/or related HR Manager experience within Manufacturing is preferred.
