Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Windows System Administrator, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. As a Sr. Windows System Administrator, you will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for design, support, and maintenance of data storage systems and peripherals for the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.
Selected candidate may be required to occasionally work outside normal business hours.
Salaries: L09: $109,000 – $144,000; L10: $125,000 – $167,000 per year at Arnold AFB, TN.
Job Duties- Serve as the primary Veeam Administrator, leading the design, management, and execution of comprehensive enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure maximum data protection.
- Manage VMware & VDI environments:
Oversee enterprise VMware infrastructure (including deployment, upgrades, storage, and networking) and collaborate with the team to support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). - Administer core Windows services:
Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file shares, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security configurations and software deployments across the enterprise. - Automate & standardize operations:
Streamline system administration using Power Shell scripting, develop standard operating procedures, and oversee Windows system imaging for standardized workstation provisioning. - Drive security & DoD compliance:
Harden, patch, and monitor systems in compliance with DoD STIGs and collaborate with the ISSM to review vulnerabilities and maintain information assurance regulations. - Support daily operations & AEDC customers:
Coordinate daily Windows team activities, manage project milestones, research emerging IT trends, and provide technical support to AEDC customers and contractors. - Maintain on‑call availability:
Remain available outside standard working hours to remediate critical IT infrastructure issues as required to support mission readiness. - Meet DoD 8140 & security requirements:
Must currently hold or obtain requisite DoD 8140 certifications within six months of hire, and possess or obtain an active security clearance for AEDC network access. - Perform other duties:
Execute additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in an IT‑related field.
- Grade 09 (L09):
Minimum of 8 years of progressively relevant experience. - Grade 10 (L10):
Minimum of 10 years of progressively relevant experience. - In lieu of a bachelor's degree: 4+ years of IT‑related experience.
- Current U.S. citizenship required.
- Active DoD security clearance.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Experience with troubleshooting, repairing, specifying, and upgrading networking and computer hardware, servers, and clients.
- Experience with Veeam backup solutions.
- Experience administering enterprise file shares, including NTFS permissions, SMB, DFS, and other storage solutions.
- Windows Active Directory administration.
- Power Shell scripting.
- Experience with Net App storage solutions.
- Strong knowledge of DNS and DHCP services, including configuration, troubleshooting, and security best practices.
- PKI certificate management.
- Experience with the following applications: MS Office
365, MS Visio, MS Project, Unix/Linux/Windows workstation and server environments, VMware, RHEL, Cisco switches, Nexus routers, Windows 11, PowerBI, Veeam, creating and managing GPOs, mass storage, networking, routing, HPC clusters, ACAS, HBSS, VLAN, VMware, Active Directory, Identity Management (IdM), Vulnerability Management, STIGs, eMASS, and Solar Winds. - Skilled in oral and written communication.
