Senior Project Management Support - Arnold AFB, Tullahoma, TN (On-site)
Canvas is seeking a qualified individual to provide advisory and assistance services to the Air Force in project/program management efforts associated with specific test needs at the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) at Arnold AFB, TN.
Responsibilities- Document project scope, objectives, key performance parameters (KPPs), and knowledge/skill areas (KSAs).
- Manage project phases including Initiation, Planning, Design, Execution, and Closeout.
- Conduct monthly project review briefings for the Air Force customer.
- Work with finance to develop project spend plans.
- Hold weekly or bi-weekly project update meetings.
- Advise the Air Force on project disconnects, risks, opportunities, and overall progress.
- Define and document project requirements and deliverables through direct stakeholder engagement.
- Manage complex projects of all sizes.
- Apply project acquisition strategy and key program events such as decision points, reviews, contract award, and CLIN structure.
- Follow a structured systems engineering approach to milestone reviews: I , PDR, CDR, VRR, FAT, FCA, and PCA.
- Assess contractor documentation against project requirements and ensure all documentation is properly stored.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues; develop contingency plans to keep projects on track.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders for seamless execution.
- Mentor, lead, and train junior project managers on the team.
- PMP certification desirable.
- Minimum education:
- PM3 – Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
- PM4 – Master's degree in Business or related field.
- SME – Recognized industry leader in area of expertise.
- Minimum experience:
- PM3 – 3 to 10 years of experience.
- PM4 – 10 or more years of experience.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- 5 to 10 percent travel may be required.
