Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on all production machinery; troubleshooting and performing overall maintenance on all production machinery and facilities; construction and implementation of procedure improvements; monitoring of inventory and ordering of maintenance supplies.
- Perform all maintenance related operations in a safe manner and follow prescribed safety procedures always adhering to proper PPE
- Perform preventive maintenance on all production machinery
- Troubleshoot and perform overall maintenance on all production machinery
- Construct and implement improvement procedures
- Unload incoming product and supply shipments
- Communicate production concerns as it relates to maintenance with the Plant Manager
- Assist with company and departmental moves
- Maintain building and grounds for the Manufacturing buildings
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
- Individual must be able to work overtime when required
Manufacturing work environment
Exposure e to dust, air borne fibers, fumes, dirt, noise, vibrations, chemicals, and solvents. Work is also performed outside in extreme temperatures ranging from hot and humid to snow and freezing temperatures. Walking between buildings year-round is required.
Safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots, and gloves are required while performing certain tasks.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, ability to write advertising, reports, and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must have proven exceptional written presentation and verbal communication skills.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra. The individual must be able to proficiently read a tape measure.
Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems and contribute to problem solving.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands requiring finger dexterity, and handling or working with equipment. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
