Senior Accountant needed for a growing organization in Tulsa in the oil & gas accounting sector. This Jobot Job is hosted by Kyle Beard.

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 per year

This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting client reporting through general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. The Accountant ensures data integrity, analyzes account activity, and helps translate operational activity into accurate financial results. Knowledge of GAAP and oil & gas accounting principles is important.

• General Ledger & Close
  • Maintain general ledger and sub-ledgers for assigned clients
  • Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and P&L analysis
• Analysis & Operations Support
  • Investigate account activity and resolve variances
  • Review operational and property-related reports
  • Support management reporting and financial analysis
  • Maintain fixed asset and oil & gas property records
• Client & Team Partnership
  • Act as a primary accounting contact for clients
  • Address financial questions and reporting needs
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve accounting matters
• Audit, Tax & Process Support
  • Assist with audit and tax documentation requests
  • Use internal systems to complete accounting tasks accurately
  • Follow established processes while identifying improvement opportunities

• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and GAAP
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational habits
• Effective communicator and problem solver
• Comfortable working independently and within a team
• Adaptable to new systems and technology

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3–5 years of accounting experience
• Background in journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Experience with fixed assets and property accounting
• Oil & gas accounting exposure preferred
• Familiarity with industry-related accounting software a plus
