JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking a controller with experience in manufacturing to support the financial and accounting activities. This position is responsible for the accounting of the company including the consolidation of results and the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of policies, processes and controls designed to mitigate risk. The successful candidate is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
The ability to manage relationships with banks, vendors, and customers to support cash flow, purchasing, billing, and contract execution is a critical attribute. This role also serves as the company’s Human Resources leader.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA and/or advanced training and experience with technical accounting preferred. 5 - 7+ years of overall relevant experience in an accounting role. Experience with general ledger maintenance, reconciliations and month-end close processes Proven knowledge and understanding of GAAP, technical accounting and financial reporting Relevant manufacturing accounting experience (cost accounting experience a plus) Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail, strong follow up skills. Strong focus on process with an emphasis on providing accurate reliable data to decision-makers. Experience leading the human resources function including payroll and administration of benefits.
Analytical and financial skills, including expertise in Excel. Excellent interpersonal skills; proven team player and cross-functional partner. Good organizational skill and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing to meet deadlines. Problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make strong recommendations. Experience with manufacturing ERP software is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TOPerforms daily accounting duties to ensure all transactions are captured properly in the accounting information system Participate in accounting process improvements while establishing good internal controls Responsible for weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting Support other periodic financial statements, analysis and presentation Preparation of monthly journal entries and reconciliation of accounts to facilitate a timely and accurate close process Support other accounting functions such as AP, AR and Payroll Support annual insurance audit and tax processes including sales tax Manage the human resources function in coordination with organizational leaders Participate in a conversion to an ERP system (planned in 2026).
