Public Accounting Controller
Seeking a background in Public Accounting with some Industry experience.. This person will serve as Controller for clients who outsource Payroll & Accounting Services. Small to Mid-Size Clients. Industry: Healthcare, Oil & Gas, non-profit, entrepreneur. Hybrid, In-Office 2-3 days a week.

Our Accounting Services Manager will oversee multiple projects, consult with Clients, deliver management reports, provide Quick Books/software training and other consulting services. Must have problem solving capabilities and a desire to develop and support the Accounting Services Team. This role may include new business development and onboarding of new clients.

Qualifications:
  • BS/Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration,
  • 5 years of relevant Public Accounting experience, with the ability to Manage Clients and support the Accounting Service Team
  • CPA License preferred but Not Require
  • Proficient in Quick Books and other relevant Software
Duties:
  • Consulting engagements with clients needing specific support or services, which includes effectively managing client relationships and expectations.
  • Assists the tax department as needed for tax strategy and increases understanding of tax issues to better serve clients.
  • Supervising 5-7 accounting services team members to ensure they are developing, learning, and engaged in our process.
  • Overseeing training programs for Accounting Services staff, identifying holes in knowledge, and expanding upon video library in Paylocity in support of division strategy to provide high level consulting for all AS clients.
  • Performing detail review and release of monthly/quarterly/annual recurring project workflows.
  • Overseeing payroll tax form preparation and approvals, as well as payroll processing services.
  • Consulting on employee retention credits and other payroll tax credits, such as the work opportunity credit.
  • Assisting in assessing WIP reports for billing purposes, as needed.
  • Participating in development of standardized services menu and tech stack, divisional due date and workload management, and implementation of outsourcing for data entry.
