Sr. Accountant

Job Description

Established engineering consulting company is seeking a Senior Accountant to add to their growing team. Ideal candidate will have oil and gas experience and be proficient in monthly accounting close and financial statement preparation.

• Timely semi-monthly invoicing of work activity to multiple clients
• Attention to detail on all reporting, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Coordinate and assist in the timely completion of monthly financial reports in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee the timely payment/reporting of severance tax, state/federal royalty regulatory requirements
• Maintain the general ledger, coordinate daily accounting activities, perform analysis and reporting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry
• Working knowledge of drilling, completion, and production activities
• Proficiency in general ledger operations and journal entries
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with month end close procedures
• Quick Books experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of Quick Books Online (desirable)
• Experience with OGsys software (beneficial)
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Willingness to continuously improve and update knowledge and skills
• Knowledge of Oil & Gas industry accounting standards and regulations
