Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing financial reports, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role works closely with management to provide financial insights and maintain strong internal controls.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage and perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Support external audits and coordinate with auditors to provide required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
• Maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions for accuracy.
• Assist with cash flow analysis and financial reporting.
• Prepare sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings as required.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with financial statement preparation and general ledger accounting.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, or Yardi.

Compensation: $35-38/hr

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
